ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ While delivering a sermon, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, "Whoever sets an emancipation contract with his slave in return for one hundred ounces (1) and the slave fulfills except for ten ounces or ten dirhams (2) then fails [to pay the rest], he is still a slave (3). Footnotes: (1) An amount equivalent to forty dirhams. (2) The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, either said ten ounces or ten dirhams, not both. The narrator had some doubt as to which one it was. (3)The amount he has paid does not change any aspect of his bondage so long as the amount agreed upon was not paid in full. ”

Sunan at-Tirmithiy

‘Ā'ishah [Bint-Abī-Bakr aṣ-Ṣiḍḍīq] reported that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, performed a Single Pilgrimage (1). (1) (Ḥajj al-Ifrād): A form of the pilgrimage where pilgrims intend to perform their pilgrimage alone without coupling it with the voluntary rituals of ‘Umrah. In this form of the pilgrimage, it is not obligatory on pilgrims to sacrifice a domestic animal, yet it is desirable. Other forms of the pilgrimage are the Paired Pilgrimage and the Unconnected Pilgrimage. Click on ḥadīth to read more
